Amapakabo Eyes NPFL Title With Rangers

Enugu Rangers now have the belief that they can win the Nigeria Professional Football League title this season after Sunday’s 2-1 win over champions Enyimba in Enugu.

Bobby Clement and Chisom Egbuchulam netted first-half goals to condemn the Peoples Elephant to their third away defeat of the season.

Rangers head coach Imama Amapakabo believes the win at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium has given his side a huge psychological push as they look to win their first league title in more than three decades.

“I discussed with my players before the game how important it was for us to win against Enyimba.

“That game against Enyimba was the game that was going to make us league champions.

“They scored first and we knew we had to dig deep because for us to emerge as league champions, we have to beat teams like Enyimba,” Amapakabo told supersport.com.

Rangers stay top with 17 points from nine matches after the win against Enyimba.
